A global journey with WD-40

This July, 76 WD-40 Company employees from nine different countries joined forces in a unique challenge: “Wellness for the World.”

Introduction

76 WD-40 Company employees from nine countries embarked on the "Wellness for the World" challenge, powered by Strove. Over one month, participants turned physical activity and mindfulness into real-world environmental impact, logging nearly 2,000 activities and planting 295 trees. Discover how this global team proved that wellness and sustainability go hand in hand, driving positive change for themselves and the planet.

Powered by Strove, this one-month campaign aimed to promote both personal health and environmental impact, turning every step, stretch, and mindful moment into a positive change for the planet.

Connecting a global team for a greener mission

Participants from across Europe came together and formed 12 teams named after trees — Beech, Maple, Oak, and others — representing their shared commitment to environmental sustainability. Through Strove, employees tracked their physical activities and mindfulness sessions, earning points they could use to plant trees or offset carbon right in the app.

Physical activity turned into planetary action

From morning jogs in Lyon to yoga sessions in Bad Homburg, participants logged a total of 1,983 activities and covered 4,547 km. This impressive effort included over 1,065 walks, 288 workouts, and even 8 surfing sessions. Employees also dedicated time to mindfulness, completing 134 meditation sessions, totalling 47 hours of calm and focus.

Wellness rewards with a lasting impact

The hard work paid off, with participants redeeming 44,300 Strove points, resulting in 295 trees planted and 1,175 kg of carbon offset. That's equivalent to the emissions of driving a petrol car for over 4,500 km — about the distance from London to Cairo!


Top performers drive inspiration

Among the 76 participants, there were some Herculean individual efforts. The top 3 participants all earned more than 4,000 points each. Their efforts inspired their teams and highlighted the power of collective action.
